Couples Therapy For Every Kind of Relationship in Nashville

Relationships are what hold us together. Let’s strengthen your bonds.

Our deepest relationships bring us joy, comfort, and stability. But they can also be really, really hard. Our experiential couples therapy can help you understand each other at a deeper level and unlock new dimensions in your relationships. We’re located in Nashville, TN, near Music Row. All are welcome, y’all.

Uncover How Your Experience Shapes Your Relationships

Nashville Integrative Therapy helps couples identify and explore how individual lived experiences and attachment experiences are always swirling in and around us. Then we’ll gently examine how these experiences can enhance or detract from your relationships.

We’ll look at how it shows up for you and how your experiences impact your partner. Once we do this, we can empathize more effectively and develop more flexibility and comfortability in confronting challenges.

This being Music City, we also work with touring bands and musicians.

Our Experiential Approach to Couples Therapy in Nashville

Couples therapy shouldn’t be a lifelong commitment. Our goal is to help you get to a place where you feel safer with each other and feel confident navigating your relationships outside of therapy

At Nashville Integrative Therapy, our work with couples and bands is a collaborative, in-the-moment process. While you’ll leave with tools to help you improve your relationship, we’ll also get to the root of what’s really going on.

Here’s how we do it:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Gottman Method

  • Integrative Attachment Therapy (IAT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Radically Open DBT

Our Process

Your Roadmap to Couples Therapeutic Success

Our couple therapy process is observational, inquisitive, and in-the-moment. Expect to gain a better understanding of each other, an ability to identify and navigate emotional triggers that may be impacting your relationship, and discover new ways to foster a deeper connection. There’s no template for couples therapy, but here’s what you can expect from us:

Schedule a no-cost phone or video consultation

Book a free, 20-minute consultation to find out if we’re a good fit. If we’re not, no worries, we’ll try to help you find the help you need.

Commit to safe & honest sessions

Therapy works best when everyone’s committed to the process and ready to do the work. We're here and ready whenever you are. So let’s get down to it.

Establish goals & expectations

We’ll talk about what your hopes are from us, the process, and each other. We’ll engage in the moment and explore how your histories impact your todays.

Engage in reflection & compassion

Our goal isn’t that you’ll remain in couples therapy forever. We want to help you find ways to communicate with clarity, live with compassion, and love with passion.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Couples Therapy & Band Therapy Based in Nashville, TN

  • Whether you're in crisis or just feeling a little disconnected, couples therapy can help. We think of it like the difference between CPR and primary care — some couples come to us when things feel urgent, and others come in proactively, wanting to understand each other better before minor friction becomes something more abrasive.

  • Couples therapy tends to be more finite than individual therapy. Our goal isn't to keep you coming to couples therapy for the rest of your life; it's to help you feel confident navigating your relationship without us. That looks different for every couple, but we're always working toward the day you don't need to be here anymore.

  • We don't accept insurance because our work is centered on you, not an insurance company’s code. Furthermore, as a nonprofit practice, we're able to offer sliding scale and deep sliding scale rates, which gives us a lot more flexibility than the insurance model allows. If cost is a concern, bring it up during your free consultation — we'll figure out what's workable.

If you want to submit your sessions of out-of-network coverage, we’ll make it as easy as we can on our end by providing a clear and detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance company.

  • We offer sliding scale and deep sliding scale fees based on your financial situation. We don't publish our full rate scale on the website, but we're always happy to talk through options during your free 20-minute consultation. Couples sessions run 75 minutes.

  • We offer in-person sessions in our offices located on Music Row  at 1231 17th Avenue South,, in Nashville, TN.

  • Couples sessions last 75 minutes. Relationships are complex, and an hour just doesn't cut it.

  • Bands are relationships, too! And sometimes they can be pretty complicated ones. We have a growing reputation for musicians, both individually and in groups, and we offer therapy specifically for bands navigating the relational dynamics that come with touring and making music together.

  • No! We want to be upfront about that, because we know it's something a lot of couples quietly hope for when they walk in. You're not going to get a verdict here. What you will get is a therapist who's paying close attention to both of you — what you're each saying, what you're each feeling, and what's happening between you in real time. The goal isn't to determine who's right. It's to help you actually understand each other.

  • It happens, and it's okay. Resistance to therapy is something we take seriously rather than push past — if your partner is reluctant but willing to give therapy a try, we'll explore that openly. We’ll also explore your desire for therapy with the same honesty.
